# Generating and Editing Your Site

When you submit a prompt, Build creates a new project and shows a step by step checklist as it works, typically covering choosing a visual direction, building the core experience, adding responsive polish, and running a final quality check. The agent narrates its plan as it goes, and a live preview appears on the right, updating as the build progresses.

Once your site is ready, the agent will summarise what it built and invite you to refine it further.

To make changes, use the Ask Computer box below the conversation to describe what you want adjusted, for example changing a section, updating the colour palette, or adjusting layout. The agent edits your existing project rather than starting over.

Other things you can do from the editor:

* Switch to Plan mode if you want to discuss a change before it is made.
* Open the Code view to browse every file in your project.
* Use the history icon to review or restore an earlier version.
* Use the route bar and device toggle in the preview to check different pages and screen sizes.
* Rename your project from the project settings or the project menu.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.imagine.art/imagine-computer/build/generating-and-editing-your-site.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
