Layer Panel
The Layer Panel in Ideate AI is where all your imported or generated visual elements are listed and controlled. Every file, image, or result appears as a layer — giving you detailed visibility and con
01. Default State
On first open, the layer panel shows:
🧱 Layer Stack – A top-down list of all images/elements
👁️ Visibility Toggle – Show/hide each layer
🔒 Lock Layer – Prevents accidental editing/movement
🧩 Layer Options Menu (•••) – Tap to open layer-specific actions
You can drag layers vertically to reorder them in the stack.
02. Layer Properties
Clicking on the ••• options menu beside any layer opens the full actions list:
🧬 Duplicate – Create an exact copy of the layer
🧾 Copy – Copies layer content to clipboard
📄 Rename – Give the layer a custom name
🧠 Copy Seed – Copies the generation seed used for AI results (for reproducibility)
🌀 Convert to 3D – Turns the 2D layer into a 3D-ready object if supported
🔒 Hide Layer – Temporarily removes from canvas without deleting
🛑 Lock Layer – Freezes the layer’s position/content
📤 Export – Save this specific layer’s content
🗑️ Delete – Permanently removes the layer from the stack
This panel gives total flexibility whether you're editing, reusing, or exporting individual layers.
03. Blend Modes
From the top dropdown, change how a layer blends with those beneath it:
NormalDarkenMultiplyColor BurnLightenSoft LightHard Light
Use for shadows, overlays, contrast layering, or cinematic lighting effects.
04. Layer Effects
Adjust how each layer looks visually using non-destructive sliders:
☀️ Exposure
🟣 Contrast
🌈 Saturation
🌡️ Temperature
🎨 Tint
🔆 Highlights
🌑 Shadows
These settings are perfect for color correction, balancing, or tone-matching layers.
05. Arrange Layers
Organize visual depth using:
⬆️ Move Up
⬇️ Move Down
⏫ Bring to Front
⏬ Send to Back
Accessible from the layer menu with keyboard shortcuts listed beside each action.
06. Hidden Layers
👁️ Toggling off visibility will hide that layer from the canvas without deleting it. You can re-enable it anytime.
Useful for testing variations or working cleanly on one section at a time.
07. Selected Layer
The active layer is highlighted with a border and bolded text.
All edits, properties, and transformations apply only to this selected layer.
You can only select one layer at a time.
08. Rename Layer
Layers can be renamed to make them easier to track — especially when dealing with many assets or versions.
Best practice: Use descriptive names like HeaderImage, Logo_Main, or Mockup_v2.
09. Layers Overflow
When the number of layers exceeds the panel height:
The list becomes scrollable
Every layer keeps its controls (visibility, lock, menu)
Performance remains unaffected
Ideal for complex scenes, UI mockups, storyboards, and layered compositions.
